FIDE IO Seminar to be held in Oslo, Norway

FIDE Women’s Commission (WOM), in cooperation with the Norwegian Chess Federation, is pleased to announce the organization of a FIDE International Organizer (IO) Seminar, which will take place in Oslo, Norway, on 30–31 May 2026.

The seminar is held under the auspices of the FIDE Events Commission (EVE) and is aimed at training organizers of international chess events in full compliance with FIDE regulations.

Participants who successfully pass the final examination will receive an official EVE IO norm certificate.

Venue

The seminar will be held at Bibilioteket (Christian Kroghs gate 10), Oslo, Norway.

Saturday, 30 May
1st session: 10:00–13:00 CEST
2nd session: 14:00–16:30 CEST

Sunday, 31 May
1st session: 10:00–13:00 CEST
2nd session: 14:00–15:30 CEST
Exam: 15:30–16:30 CEST

As part of the FIDE WOM initiative, participation for the first 10 registered women will be free of charge.
In addition, the Norwegian Chess Federation, as co-organizer, is entitled to nominate 2 participants free of charge.
