Celebrating Women in Chess. Next stop: Oceania

FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess together with Singapore, Australian and New Zealand Chess Federations are pleased to announce a series of girls’ chess events “All4Chess & Chess4All – Oceanian Way” set for 21 March – 8 April 2023 in Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia.

The initiative will include workshop “Chess is an Equal Game”, simuls with GMs, chess tournaments, lectures, presentation of FIDE social projects and Commission for women’s chess, role model talks, as well as meetings with National Olympic Commities and other sports officials of the countries.

FIDE will be represented by Dana Reizniece-Ozola, WGM, FIDE Deputy Chair of Management Board, and Anastasia Sorokina, WIM, Chair of FIDE Commission for Women in Chess, international arbiter. Workshop “Chess is an Equal Game” will also feature Susan Namangale, President of the Malawi Chess Association (CHESSAM), the first female president of a chess federation in Africa; Kevin Goh Wei Ming, GM, seven-time Singaporean champion; Monalisha Khamboo, WCM, chess player, promoter and arbiter from Nepal, and others.
