Women’s and Girls’ Rapid Chess Championship held in Yerevan, Armenia

On April 7, Armenian Chess Federation in collaboration with the FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess organized a Women’s and Girls’ Rapid Chess Championship, Dedicated to Motherhood and Beauty. The tournament took place in Chess Academy of Armenia, Yerevan. This was the unique event as it welcomed chess players from various age categories ranging from U8 up to S50, in all skill levels.

Winners were awarded by the Executive Director of the Armenian Chess Federation Armen Gevorgyan and the Special Guest the chair of the Women’s commission of the Armenian Chess Federation, member of the Armenian Women’s National team, GM Elina Danielian.

There were also special prizes from the “Chessify” company. “Master” plan for the 1st and 2nd places and “Amateur” plan for the 3rd to 7th places.

At the closing ceremony WFM Polina Kobak was awarded for taking the first place in the European stage of the “Queens Online Chess Festival”.
