The FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess (WOM) is delighted to collaborate with the Confederation of Chess for the Americas (CCA) in celebrating International Women’s Day with a special event, Queens of the Board: Celebrating Women in Chess.
This initiative is a wonderful way to highlight the achievements of women in chess across the Americas, inspire future generations, and foster a more inclusive and supportive chess community. With a mix of insightful discussions, recognition of outstanding contributions, and engaging activities like the Sip and Chess session, this event promises to be a meaningful celebration of women in the game.

Event Overview
The event will be hybrid (online and in person), bringing together players, arbiters, and chess enthusiasts for discussions, social engagement, and a celebration of women’s achievements in chess. Key activities include:
🔹 Panel Discussion – A conversation with female chess players, arbiters, and instructors on breaking barriers, overcoming challenges, and shaping the future of women in chess.
🔹 Recognition & Awards Ceremony – Honoring outstanding female chess players, arbiters, administrators, and advocates who have contributed to the growth of women’s chess.
🔹 Sip and Chess Session – A relaxed and social chess gathering where female players of all ages can play and connect.
